The field uniformity at five different positions and integral field of a long dipole magnet. The dipole has a length of 5.67 m. To search the field uniformity of different region and integral field uniformity, an entire rotating coil assembly comprises five short rotating coils, with Coil 1 positioned closest to the motor, followed sequentially by Coils 2, 3, 4, and 5. As the magnetic coil rotates within a magnetic field in the dipole’s aperture, it captures the induced voltage signal from each segment. These signals are then integrated to determine the overall magnetic field and its transverse field distribution. The figure illustrates the transverse field uniformity at the five distinct measurement locations, as well as the integral field uniformity. Labels DBL1 through DBL5 represent the field uniformity measured in the five respective coils, corresponding to different longitudinal sections of the long dipole magnet. DBL_tot denotes the integral field uniformity across the entire magnet length.DBLn = (By(x, y=0, z=n)L-By(x=0, y=0, z=n)L)/ (By(x, y=0, z=n)L n denotes the coil number and can range from 1 to 5. The good field region of dipole is ±14 mm.
