Single fiber tensile test on consecutive fibre segments - carbon and glass fibres
收藏资源简介:
Automated single-fibre tensile tests were performed on consecutive segments from different fibres within a yarn. The experimental details are as follows: materials: T700SC-12000-50C (Toray) carbon fibres and Advantex R25HX14 (3B Fibreglass) glass fibres automated tests: ALS1500-LEX820-FDAS770 device (Dia-Stron) equipped with a 20 N load cell gauge length: 4 mm displacement rate of 6 µm/s compliance: 0.1256 mm/N for carbon fibres and 0.0267 mm/N for glass fibres The set of files includes: fibres_metadata.csv: a summary for all tested fibres, including segment identifier, material type, fibre identifier, mean fibre diameter, cross-sectional area, Young's modulus, ultimate tensile strength, and failure strain diameter measurements.zip: a folder containing a CSV file for each fibre segment with the raw and filtered diameter measurements (C=carbon and G=glass fibre) tensile tests.zip: a folder containing a CSV file for each fibre segment with the raw load-displacement and compliance-corrected stress-strain data pseudocode.docx: a language-independent description of the data processing script, including the algorithms for fibre diameter extraction, fibre tensile property extraction, and Weibull parameter estimation This is the data behind the following journal article: Elise Van Vlierberghe, Sara Marie Delcourte, Christian Breite, and Yentl Swolfs, The Weibull-of-Weibulls strength distribution of carbon and glass fibres: experimental assessment and comparison against the unimodal Weibull strength distribution, Submitted, 2026.
