Replication Materials for "Relationships among L2 Proficiency, Receptive Metaphoric Competence, and Metaphor Production: Behavioral and ERP Evidence"

This repository contains replication materials associated with the manuscript “Relationships among L2 Proficiency, Receptive Metaphoric Competence, and Metaphor Production: Behavioral and ERP Evidence.” Experiment 1 examined the relationships among second language (L2) proficiency, L2 receptive metaphoric competence (L2 MC-R), and written L2 productive metaphoric competence (written L2 MC-P). Experiment 2 investigated oral L2 metaphor production using behavioral and event-related potential (ERP) measures, focusing on the contributions of L2 proficiency and L2 MC-R. The replication package documents the experimental procedures, stimulus norming, data structure, statistical analysis scripts, EEG preprocessing, software dependencies, and instructions for reproducing the reported analyses. The included README describes the organization of the available materials and the corresponding analysis procedures.
