This project investigated how the presence of W47R polymorphism in E. coli DHFR altered evolution of trimethoprim resistance. Laboratory evolution was performed in 500 ng/mL trimethoprim for 12 growth cycles. 15 surviving replicates from wild type and 4 surviving replicates from the DHFR-W47R knockin. Other replicates of the knockin went extinct.
