\r\n\r\nThe National Library of Australia operates the [Trove People and\r\nOrganisations](http://trove.nla.gov.au/people) zone which allows users to\r\naccess information about significant people and organisations (parties) as\r\nwell as related biographical and contextual information.\r\n\r\nThe Trove People and Organisations dataset is based on the Australian Name\r\nAuthority File, a unique resource maintained since 1981 by Australian\r\nlibraries which contribute their holdings to [Libraries\r\nAustralia](http://librariesaustralia.nla.gov.au). The Trove People and\r\nOrganisations zone plays an important role in exposing records about parties\r\nand linking to them in libraries and other collecting institutions. The data\r\nalso provides links to resources by and about a party and relationships\r\nbetween parties.\r\n\r\nTo further enrich the service the Library is collaborating with organisations\r\nthat already make available information about people and organisations in\r\ntheir specific domains and linking to them.\r\n\r\nThe API to this dataset provides access to 885,000 identities.\r\n\r\n
