Measurement on heated cable bundles consisting of identical cables to assess the effective thermal conductivity

To verify several methods to calculate effective thermal conductivities of cable bundles, measurements were done. The data set contains measured electrical resistances, currents, voltage drops measured temperatures (ambient, cable surfaces) of heated cable bundles with 3 to 19 identical rubber insulated cables. Because measured and calculated effective thermal conductivities differed, an new calculation method is developed and verified with the measured quantities. The developed Thermal Network model for cable bundles is given in PSpice code.
