Immunogenicity of Recombinant Rabies Virus-Vectored Multivalent Vaccines Expressing FCV VP1 and FHV-1 gB/gD Genes

To develop a safe and effective multivalent vaccine against feline calicivirus (FCV) and feline herpesvirus 1 (FHV-1), two recombinant rabies virus (RABV) vaccines expressing the FCV VP1 and FHV-1 gB/gD genes were constructed. The exogenous genes showed stable inheritance, and the recombinant viruses exhibited growth kinetics similar to the parental strain. After verifying the viral pathogenicity, the recombinant virus vaccines elicited neutralizing antibody responses against FCV, FHV-1, and RABV, and conferred effective protection.
