Grenada Daily Rainfall Database (GRD DRDB) v1.0

This dataset contains daily rainfall observations compiled for 30 rainfall stations across Grenada and its territories, including Carriacou and Petit Martinique. Of the 30 stations, 29 are operated by the National Water and Sewerage Authority, Grenada (NAWASA), and 1 station (Point Salines / Maurice Bishop International Airport) is operated by the Grenada Airports Authority (GAA). The repository includes four main data products: 1. GRN_RAINFALL_DATA_NAWASA_2025.xlsx Raw daily rainfall records obtained from NAWASA for the 29 NAWASA-operated stations. This file also includes station coordinates referenced in EPSG:4326. 2. GRN_RAINFALLDATA_MBIA.csv Raw daily rainfall data for the Point Salines station operated by the Grenada Airports Authority (GAA), providing the most continuous record in the archive. 3. GRN_RAINFALL_DATA_COMBINED_2025.csv Cleaned and combined daily rainfall dataset used for analysis. Cleaning included the removal of non-numeric entries and the screening of implausible values, including extreme readings greater than 350 mm where no supporting evidence was found from nearby stations. 4. GRN_RAINFALL_STATIONS.csv Station metadata file containing station names, identifiers, and location information. 5. GRD_DRD_V1_completeness.png A summary figure showing temporal data completeness across all stations. 6. GRD_DRD_V1_DAILYRAINFALL.png A summary figure showing daily rainfall plotted across time for all stations. 7. GRD_DRD_V1_MONTHLYTOTALHEATMAP.png A summary figure showing monthly totals plotted across time for all stations. The Point Salines station operated by GAA provides a comparatively continuous daily rainfall record from 1985 to 2025. In contrast, the NAWASA-operated stations are characterized by intermittent and fragmented daily rainfall completeness, primarily spanning 2007 to 2025. The completeness figure is included to document these temporal gaps and the uneven observational coverage across the network. This dataset was prepared to support the development of multi-station rainfall analyses and Bayesian intensity-duration-frequency (IDF) modelling for Grenada. Original raw data ownership remains with NAWASA and GAA.
