Genome Sequencing Project of Fructobacillus spp.. Fructobacillus

Fructobacillus spp. are members of fructophilic lactic acid bacteria, which prefer fructose over glucose as growth substrate and mainly habitat in fructose-rich environments such as flowers, fruits, or bee guts. The genus Fructobacillus was established as a distinct genus from Leuconostoc in 2008. The aim of this project is to clarify their unique characteristics and the genetic background by comparative genome analysis.
