Crime Survey for England and Wales, 2023- 2024: Teaching Dataset

<p><span style="font-style: italic;">The Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW)</span> is a key source of reliable statistics on people’s experiences of crime, including offences not reported to the police. <span>Its findings provide </span><span>valuable insights </span><span>for policymakers, researchers, and organisations working to improve public safety.</span></p>
<p>This <span style="font-style: italic;">Crime Survey for England and Wales 2023-2024: Teaching Dataset</span> is a sub-sample from the main Crime Survey for England Wales 2023-2024 (available from UK Data Archive under SN 9365).</p>
<p>The CSEW 2023-2024 teaching dataset has been adapted for the purpose of teaching and learning.</p>

<p><b>The main differences are:</b></p>

<li>The number of variables has been reduced.</li><li>Additional continuous variables have been created using Principal Components Analysis of pre-existing variables, which facilitate their use in quantitative methods classes.</li><li>Weighting has been simplified.</li><li>A reduced codebook is provided.</li></ul>
