Chromosome-scale genome assembly and annotation of the two-spotted cricket <i>Gryllus</i> <i>bimaculatus</i> (Orthoptera: Gryllidae)

This dataset provides the chromosome-scale genome assembly (FASTA) and corresponding structural and functional gene annotation files for the two-spotted cricket, <i>Gryllus bimaculatus</i> (white-eyed mutant strain).<i>G. bimaculatus</i> is a key hemimetabolous model organism for developmental biology, neuroscience, and regeneration. This resource represents a significant upgrade to the previous fragmented draft assembly (Ylla et al. 2021, GCA_017312745.1).The assembly (Gbim_v2.2.genome.fasta) was generated using a hybrid strategy combining Oxford Nanopore and PacBio HiFi long reads, polished with Illumina data, and scaffolded using Hi-C chromatin conformation capture technology.
