The series was formerly known as &lt;i&gt;Industrial Stoppages Data&lt;/i&gt; and was the responsibility of the Employment Department. The title changed to &lt;i&gt;Labour Disputes in the UK&lt;/i&gt; in 1992 and the Office for National Statistics took over responsibility when the Employment Department was abolished in 1995.<br><B>Main Topics</B>:<BR><br>For each dispute, the following information is available: region; industry (coded to SIC 1992); number of workers involved; occupations involved; number of working days lost; the start and end date of the dispute; the duration of the stoppage; the cause of the stoppage; sympathetic action; official or other; total number of employees at the establishment (if known).
