This dataset examines how formal teacher training shapes the motivations and pedagogical beliefs of in-service teachers in Chilean upper-secondary VET schools. Based on the hypothesis that trained vocational teachers align more closely with general education teachers—particularly in constructivist orientations—the data were collected via an online survey in 2023, with 1,177 teachers from 236 schools. The survey includes adapted FIT-Choice scales (15 motivational and perception factors) and pedagogical belief measures (constructivist vs. direct transmission). Results indicate that vocational teachers with a teaching diploma report higher perceived ability, more intrinsic and social motivations, and stronger constructivist preferences—especially among women. The dataset enables analyses of teacher profiles, training effects, and pedagogical orientations in VET education.
