A cheaper shell: a self-damaging insertion changes the material of the child's shell, and the lineage sweeps the population

A self-contained experiment package of a 355-million-tick Evochora run in which an inserted instruction removed one operand cell of an organism's body, the shell-building loop then wrote the child's shell as DATA cells instead of STRUCTURE cells at a twentieth of the price, and the lineage replaced the population within 14.5 million ticks. The analysis notebook is the record's documentation; the package serves the run's sampled data in the built-in visualizer and requires only Java 21.
