The mutant population of Brassica juncea cultivar RH 749 was created using chemical mutagenesis by treated with 0.05% of the chemical mutagen ethyl methane sulfonate (EMS). The mutants were advanced by continuous selection and selfing. Populations from the M9 generation onwards were used for screening against Albugo candid isolates. Among them the mutant DRMR 18-11-35 was found resistant to the disease.
