Oceanographic and Water-Quality Measurements in Barnegat Bay, New Jersey, 2014-2015

This web page provides access to oceanographic and water-quality observations made at two locations in Barnegat Bay as part of the Estuarine Physical Response to Storms (EPR) program. The objective was to characterize the processes that affect sediment transport to tidal wetlands. Marine temperature, optical turbidity sensors and acoustic velocity meters were deployed at two sites in tidal wetland channels connected to Barnegat Bay. A bottom platform with an upward-looking velocimeter was paired with mid-water pole-mounted water quality sensors at each site for the Aug 2014 to Jan 2015 deployment, and water quality sensors were mounted on bottom landing platform with the upward-looking velocimeter for the Apr-Jul 2015 deployment. The water quality sensor deployments for Aug 2014 to Jan 2015 were in 2 segments, with all the sensors removed during the winter to prevent freezing.
