SOCS and SWS trade-off dataset

Vegetation restoration is a critical approach for rehabilitating degraded soils in fragile habitats and enhancing carbon sequestration while potentially reducing soil water storage (SWS). However, the relationship between soil organic carbon storage (SOCS) and SWS across different revegetation types remains underexplored, particularly under varying climate gradients. We analyzed the data to assess SOCS and SWS trade-offs and the coupling coordination level (0–100 cm) across vegetation types, including grassland, shrubland, and forestland (Robinia pseudoacacia and economic forest) on the Loess Plateau.
