Images and Site Records from an Archaeological Trench Evaluation at 34 Brackley Road, Silverstone, Northamptonshire, 2012

This collection comprises images and site records from an archaeological trench evaluation at 34 Brackley Road, Silverstone, Northamptonshire. This work was undertaken by Network Archaeology Ltd. in 2012. The proposed development area occupied 1.42ha of open ground to the east of Silverstone Manor within an area identified as forming part of the medieval village of Silverstone. 12 evaluation trenches were laid out to investigate both the footprints of new buildings and areas of proposed landscaping. All of the features, layers and deposits identified during the machine stripping appeared to date to the 20th century and were probably associated with fairly recent demolition and landscaping events carried out within the grounds of Silverstone House and the construction of Brackley Road.</p>
