Information on plant characteristics is essential for variety release and distinguishing from others. However, such information is often lacking even in the some already released and AfricaRice varieties which are being stored in GRU. The objective here is to characterize morphological, agronomic and grain quality traits of about 100 AfricaRice and other commonly grown rice varieties in West Africa.
