Breakdown of energy sources for heating systems in France 2022, by type

In 2022, 30 percent of the heating systems in France used natural gas to generate energy. However, almost 50 percent of the heating system used renewable energy sources. Specifically, biomass heat was consumed by 25 percent of the French heating systems, 14 percent of them used waste heat, and five percent geothermal.
