Death Registrations (Tasmanian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages)

The Register includes all deaths that occur in Tasmania. Data is obtained from Death Registration forms usually provided by funeral directors and completed by the spouse, partner or relative of the deceased. An attending doctor also supplies a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death and in some cases such as car accidents, suspicious deaths or deaths at home, the Coroner provides the information to Births, Deaths and Marriages instead of a doctor.
