Whole-exome sequencing in familial metatarsophalangeal osteoarthritis

The aim of this study was to identify genetic defect(s) predisposing to metatarsophalangeal osteoarthritis in a Finnish family. The aetiology of osteoarthritis is complex, and investigation of rare variants and familial forms of the disease can provide valuable information about pathogenic mechanisms behind osteoarthritis.
