CGIAR Inspire 2019 - Rapid genomic typing of aquatic pathogens. Aquatic bacterial pathogens

A collaboration between the World Fish Center, University of Queensland and Wilderlab, and partially funded through the CGIAR Inspire Prize for Big Data in Agriculture 2019. These whole genome sequences comprise the foundation of a database of fully closed genomes of aquatic pathogenic bacteria of significance to aquaculture in low and middle income countries. This is an ongoing project used to train an open source kmer classifier that can identify species, serotype, sequence type directly from raw nanopore sequencer reads enabling rapid diagnostics and evidence based interventions
