Developmental stages of rhizome of Cibotium barometz

Cibotium barometz is a valued tranditional Chinese medicinal herb with demonstrated efficacy in treating musculoskeletal and aged-related conditions. the pharnacological properties of Gou-ji are closely associated with its phytochemical composition. However, a systematic understanding of the metabolic profile and its temporal dynamics in the rhizome, the primary medicinal part, remains limited. This study aims to elucidate the secondary metabolite composition and developmental changes in C. barometz rhizomes at juvenile (YDS), intermediate (MDS), and mature (MS) stages through integrated metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses.
