Rice production in Africa 2022, by country

As of 2022, Nigeria was the largest producer of rice in Africa. That year, rice production in the country amounted to around 8.5 million metric tons. Egypt and Madagascar followed with an output of about 5.8 million metric tons and 4.6 million metric tons, respectively.
