Shifts in the milk microbiome during processing of raw milk are not fully elucidated yet. To uncover changes in the milk microbiome during processing, samples were collected at different processing positions in an Austrian milk processing plant. Samples were pre-treated, DNA was extracted and sent to Illumina MiSeq sequencing of the partial 16S rRNA gene. Bacterial community was assessed on 97% sequence similarity level of operational taxonomic units.
