资源简介:
A key information gap in managing Australias hammerhead sharks is whether Australian stocks are shared with neighboring countries, especially Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Hammerhead sharks are known to be highly migratory and the extent of connectivity between countries is relevant to management approaches. This NESP Marine Biodiversity Hub Project A5 - "Defining connectivity of Australias hammerhead sharks" used a integrated, multi-method approach including satellite tagging, genetics, and parasite analysis. Five Great hammerheads and seven Scalloped hammerheads were tracked at Exmouth Gulf and the Great Barrier Reef in 2016 to 2018. The hammerheads were tagged with Wildlife Computers miniPAT archival tags and SPOT6 tags.
