Oligocene calcareous nannofossils from Cape Roberts Project cores 2A and 3

This data set includes calcareous nannofossil counts from samples collected during the Cape Roberts Project drilling in the Victria Land Basin. Specimens were identified to species and counted to create the census data. This census data were analyzed to determine the biostratigraphic placement of the samples. Additional analyses of the census data indicated that these assemblages of phytoplankton inhabited extreme marginal conditions, resulting in species-poor, highly-dominated paleocommunities.
