资源简介:
The EMPA dataset was collected under the scope of the Emotional Modulation in Pain Assessment (EMPA) project (DOI: 10.54499/2022.05005.PTDC). This research encompassed the design, implementation and feasibility's assessment of a novel protocol to study the role of emotions in pain, by collecting emotional and physiological data, such as Electrocardiogram, Electrodermal Activity, and surface Electromyogram signals. The proposed protocol resources on emotion-inducing videos (film excerpts) to assess the influence of emotional response on pain, and comprised three emotional sessions, negative, positive, and neutral, which were performed through videos of excerpts of terror, comedy, and documentary films, respectively, followed by pain induction using a Cold Pressor Task (CPT), involving placing a hand in cold water. Along the protocol, the pain perception was evaluated using a 0-10 numerical rating scale and by registering the time from the pain stimulus beginning to the Pain and Tolerance Thresholds.
