It is estimated that more than half (>50%) of all water in Broward County is used for landscape irrigation. The EPA estimates as much as 50% of outdoor water use is lost through evaporation, wind drift, runoff, and maintenance issues. With so much of Broward’s water being used for irrigation and so much room for efficiency gains, it is imperative to operate programs which aim to increase outdoor water use efficiency.
