Plan stratégique pour la protection de la plaine Checkley

The purpose of the strategic plan for the protection of Checkley Plain, located in the municipality of Sept-Îles, is to provide a solid basis for including the peatland and the surrounding wooded areas, with a total area of 552 ha, in the register of protected areas in Quebec. To do this, wildlife (birds and amphibians) and floristic inventories as well as consultation activities with local stakeholders were carried out in 2020.
