E. coli formaldehyde-responsive promoter library

This sort-seq experiment was undertaken to elucidate the binding site of E. coli transcriptional repressor FrmR and identify mutations for manipulating formaldehyde-inducible expression levels. A mutated library of E. coli formaldehyde-inducible promoters was placed upstream of GFP and sorted based on expression level with and without formaldehyde induction and in different E. coli strains. The promoter sequences sorted into each expression bin are deposited here.
