Sentinel Species Monitoring Saint John Harbour Estuary

The overall objective is to develop sensitive environmental monitoring
programs that identify important impacts, the mechanisms of impact, and the
stressors responsible for the impacts. The long term research objectives are to
develop a better understanding of the influence of environmental factors on the
growth and reproduction of fish, the influence of life history characteristics
of fish on their sensitivity to stress, and how species differences in life
history characteristics can be utilized to design more cost-efficient,
sensitive monitoring programs.
