本数据集内容为2018年青海牧区11个高寒草甸典型区域内代表性牦牛群体体重与体尺(体高、体长、胸围、管围)性状的测定结果,所有元数据来源于中国科学院西北高原生物研究所生态中心高原动物生殖生物学学科组与青海省畜牧兽医科学院等单位联合开展的青海牧区传统放牧牦牛体重监测工作。数据集共包含1个工作簿11个工作表,工作簿名称为《青海牧区传统放牧牦牛体重监测数据集(2018)》,各工作表名称和内容分别为:

本数据集通过对青海牧区各代表性区域内牦牛群体体重、体尺数据的测定,综合评估目前生态环境下高寒草甸传统放牧牦牛的生长性能。数据集可与《青海省畜禽品种志》(1983年)和《青海省畜禽遗传资源志》(2013年)中收录的1981年和2008年测定青海牦牛代表性群体生长性状进行比较,获得青海牧区传统放牧牦牛生长性能退化指数,从而有助于评估生态环境变化对于草食家畜生长与生产性能的影响。
This dataset contains the measurement results of body weight and body size traits (including withers height, body length, chest circumference, and cannon circumference) of representative yak populations in 11 typical alpine meadow regions of the Qinghai pastoral area in 2018. All metadata comes from the traditional grazing yak body weight monitoring project in the Qinghai pastoral area jointly carried out by the Ecological Center of the Northwest Institute of Plateau Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Plateau Animal Reproductive Biology Research Group, Qinghai Academy of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences and other relevant units.
The dataset consists of 1 workbook and 11 worksheets. The name of the workbook is *Qinghai Pastoral Area Traditional Grazing Yak Body Weight Monitoring Dataset (2018)*. The names and corresponding contents of each worksheet are listed below:
1. Haiyan Halajing: Body weight and body size data of 167 yaks in Halajing Mongolian Township, Haiyan County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture;
2. Qilian Mole: Body weight and body size data of 69 yaks in Mole Town, Qilian County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture;
3. Qilian Yeniugou: Body weight and body size data of 42 yaks in Yeniugou Township, Qilian County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture;
4. Qilian Yanglong: Body weight and body size data of 104 yaks in Yanglong Township, Qilian County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture;
5. Qilian Ebao: Body weight and body size data of 28 yaks in Ebao Town, Qilian County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture;
6. Tianjun Xinyuan: Body weight and body size data of 38 yaks in Xinyuan Town, Tianjun County, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture;
7. Tianjun Longmen: Body weight and body size data of 100 yaks in Longmen Township, Tianjun County, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture;
8. Gande Ganglong: Body weight and body size data of 36 yaks in Ganglong Township, Gande County, Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture;
9. Guide Taxiu: Body weight and body size data of 70 yaks in Taxiu Township, Guide County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture;
10. Henan Kesheng: Body weight and body size data of 73 yaks in Kesheng Township, Henan Mongolian Autonomous County, Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture;
11. Ledu Dala: Body weight and body size data of 50 yaks in Dala Township, Ledu District, Haidong City.
This dataset comprehensively evaluates the growth performance of traditional grazing yaks in alpine meadows under the current ecological environment by measuring the body weight and body size data of yak populations in various representative regions of the Qinghai pastoral area. The dataset can be compared with the growth traits of representative Qinghai yak populations measured in 1981 and 2008 recorded in *Qinghai Province Livestock and Poultry Variety Records* (1983) and *Qinghai Province Livestock and Poultry Genetic Resources Records* (2013) to obtain the growth performance degradation index of traditional grazing yaks in the Qinghai pastoral area, thereby helping to assess the impact of ecological environment changes on the growth and production performance of herbivorous livestock.
