Magnetotelluric EDI dataset from Lake Albert, Uganda
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains magnetotelluric (MT) EDI files referenced to true north. The data used in this work were collected from 57 wideband MT stations distributed around Lake Albert during three survey phases. Survey profiles were designed with approximately 20 km station spacing. Data acquisition was conducted using Phoenix Geophysics’ ultra-wideband system equipped with an MTU-5C receiver, in collaboration with the Uganda Directorate of Geological Survey and Mines (UDGSM). For logistical efficiency, stations were positioned near accessible roads while maintaining sufficient distance to minimize cultural and environmental noise. At each site, time-series data were recorded for 2–3 days, producing high-quality broadband measurements over a period range of approximately 0.03 seconds (37.5 Hz) to ~2000 seconds. The time-series data were processed using Phoenix Geophysics’ EMPower software, which applies robust processing algorithms to reduce the effects of outliers and noise. A simultaneously recorded nearby station served as a remote reference to further minimize local bias.
