The antibacterial mechanism related with influencing electron transfer chain

We discovered that Gram-positive methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (ATCC 25923) up-regulated the expression level of anaerobic respiration related genes but down regulated the expression level of aerobic respiration related genes during bacteria and material contact. The electron transfer between the bacteria and coating was triggered when bacteria contacted with materials.
