Abortiporus biennis is a saprophytic fungus able to degrade wood, mainly from deciduous and sometimes even coniferous trees, causing a white rot of infected wood. The data described the analysis of whole transcriptome of A. biennis using the RNA-seq technology. The whole transcriptome of A. biennis induced with oxalic acid, a crucial low-molecular-weight compound in the wood decaying system of fungi, was compared with non-induced culture conditions. This approach allowed determination of the differences in the expression of genes coding for enzymes responsible for lignocellulose decomposition as well as genes whose expression may influence oxalic acid synthesis and degradation processes.
