CRIMINAL LIABILITY FOR INDUCING SUICIDE: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF NATIONAL LEGISLATION AND FOREIGN EXPERIENCE

This article examines the legal foundations of criminal liability for inducing or driving a person to suicide, with a comparative focus on national legislation and foreign legal systems. The study integrates both qualitative and quantitative research methods to explore doctrinal interpretations, legislative frameworks, and statistical trends related to suicide-related offenses. Qualitative analysis includes a review of legal norms, judicial practices, and scholarly interpretations, while quantitative analysis is based on available statistical data reflecting the prevalence and prosecution rates of such crimes. The findings reveal significant differences in the legal definition, scope, and enforcement mechanisms across jurisdictions. The article argues that a comprehensive legal approach, combining preventive measures with effective criminal liability provisions, is essential for addressing this complex socio-legal issue. The study concludes with recommendations for improving national legislation in line with international best practices.
