资源简介:
Dothistroma septosporum (Mycosphaerella pini): A pathogen of pines including the biofuel species Pinus taeda, which is being sequenced at the JGI. Current Dothistroma epidemics in the northern hemisphere are correlated with climate change. Produces the non-host selective toxin dothistromin, enabling comparisons with other toxin-producing Dothideomycetes and with aflatoxin-producing fungi that infect maize. The large number of species proposed represents the overall desires of the Dothideomycetes Genomics Consortium for the best representation of the class based on importance to bioenergy production, diversity of life-history strategies and phylogenetic coverage. Rather than submit many individual proposals, we have joined together to collectively develop a single proposal covering the optimal species for comparative genomics analyses and solving biofuel- related problems. The species have been organized into three groups. The first contains six major pathogens of biofuel crops with sequenced host genomes. The isolate NZE10 originated from infected needles of Pinus radiata in New Zealand.
