Protecting Quality Remnant Native Vegetation on Roadsides from Threat Abatement

This project will enhance the biodiversity value of the roadside and reserves by addressing the threat posed by weed seeds being spread by birds (e.g. ivy, pittosporum, tagasaste) into adjoining quality remnant native vegetation. Specialist contractors with the appropriate machinery, facilities and knowledge will be engaged to poison, remove and dispose of the woody weeds. With the threats removed, these areas and adjoining woodland and forest areas will be better protected.
