THE BRIDGE TO REAL-WORLD FLUENCY: WHY TASK-BASED LANGUAGE TEACHING (TBLT) OUTPERFORMS THE TRADITIONAL TEXTBOOK

This article questions that model by looking at how TBLT affects communication skills. We explore how changing the focus from learning rules to solving a problem helps learners function in real social and work situations. By comparing methods with task-centered frameworks this paper argues that TBLT does not just teach English. It helps students become confident, strong and flexible communicators.
