This article analyzes the role and significance of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, which are becoming an integral part of the global education system, in the methodology of English Language Teaching (ELT). The study explores the transformational potential of large language models such as ChatGPT, ChatGPT, and Claude in developing students' linguistic competencies, particularly in academic writing, vocabulary acquisition, and speaking skills. The article proposes methodological models for integrating traditional teaching methods with AI tools. Furthermore, it scientifically discusses not only the advantages of using AI in the classroom but also the challenges related to maintaining academic integrity (plagiarism) and critical thinking. The article concludes with practical recommendations for English language teachers aimed at increasing lesson efficiency in an AI-driven environment.
