Hybridization and polyploidization has always been a focus in the study of lycoris plants. Lycoris radiata is the most widely distributed species in this genus, including a variant, and three different karyotypes. This study used the next generation sequencing technology, got a diploid lycoris radiata (2 n = 22) transcriptome database of bulb. This transcriptome database could provide a molecular basis for functional genomics research of lycoris radiata and help molecular markers development.
