OpenFOAM files and results data for: A wall-modeled large eddy simulation framework for sheared convective atmospheric boundary layers (⚠️Dataset moved to CORA repository, DOI: 10.34810/DATA2734⚠️)
收藏资源简介:
This data repository contains the OpenFOAM simulation data and results using the wall-modeled large-eddy simulations (WMLES) framework for high-Reynolds-number barotropic sheared convective atmospheric boundary layer (ABL). The proposed framework enables accurate and computationally efficient CBL inflow generation for wind farm applications in modern HPC systems by employing ABL-tailored wall functions, laying the groundwork for future studies involving surface roughness, heterogeneity, terrain complexity, and advanced wall-model formulations. The dataset contains three main folders corresponding to the simulations on the uniform and non-uniform grids using different subgrid-scale (SGS) models and wall functions. Those are: 1) the Sigma SGS model results with ABL-tailored wall function in the 5×5×2 km³ domain with uniform (U10) grid, 2) the Smagorinsky SGS model results with the universal law of the wall in the 3×1×2 km³ domain with non-uniform (NU2) grid, and 3) the dynamic k-equation SGS model results with the ABL-tailored wall function in the 3×1×2 km³ domain with uniform (U10) grid. Each of these three folders contains the mandatory folders required to run the OpenFOAM simulations, i.e., "0", "constant", and "system"; and also the results in "25000" and "postProcessing" folders. The "25000" folders contain the result files of velocity (U), potential temperature (T), SGS viscosity (nut), and SGS thermal diffusivity (alphat) in binary format; therefore, the user has to use a post-processing/data-visualization tool like Paraview to see the results and to extract the data. The temporal evolution of the dimensionless wall distance (z⁺) values throughout the simulation is included in the "postProcessing" folder. The *.foam file allows the user to open the case using Paraview. Lastly, the 3D grid can be generated by running the blockMesh command in OpenFOAM. This will generate the grid's folder "polyMesh" inside the "constant" folder. ⚠️ NOTICE ⚠️ This dataset is no longer maintained on Zenodo.
