Depositions, warrants and other papers relating to the extradition from Sydney of persons "illegally at large", from New Caledonia. These extraditions were carried out under Extradition Agreements between France and Great Britain. Those being extradited included prisoners who had escaped custody, and as well, those persons who, according to French law, were to remain in New Caledonia under police surveillance, after they had served their prison sentences.
