资源简介:
This dataset contains responses from 225 students enrolled in COS101: Introduction to Computing Science at the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO), Nigeria. The dataset was collected to assess students' understanding of key historical figures in computing.Students were asked to answer three open-ended questions via Google Forms, focusing on the contributions of:Ada Lovelace – Her work on the Analytical Engine and contributions to early programming.John von Neumann – His role in shaping modern computer architecture through the von Neumann architecture.John Presper Eckert & John W. Mauchly – Their contributions to the development of ENIAC, one of the earliest electronic computers. The dataset is stored in a CSV file with the following structure:SN: Serial number assigned after de-identification of students' original matriculation numbers.Q1: Students' responses to Ada Lovelace's contribution.Q2: Students' responses to John von Neumann's contribution.Q3: Students' responses to Eckert & Mauchly's contribution. Each response was evaluated against predefined correct answers using a semantic similarity scoring approach, assigning scores based on relevance and accuracy. This dataset can be useful for natural language processing (NLP) research, automated grading systems, educational analytics, and assessing students' understanding of historical computing concepts.
