Metabarcoding analysis of the stomach contents of a swimming crab (Portunus sanguinolentus) trapped in marine debris

This study investigates the dietary composition of a swimming crab (Portunus sanguinolentus) that was found entrapped in a floating plastic bottle. DNA metabarcoding was conducted on the stomach contents using universal primers targeting the 18S rRNA, MiFish, and psbA gene regions to reveal prey items. The data provide insight into the potential impacts of marine debris on crustaceans.
