Caryophyllales are a highly diverse and large order of plants with a global distribution. While some species are important crops like Beta vulgaris, many others can survive under extreme conditions. This order is well known for the complex pigment evolution, because the pigments anthocyanins and betalains occur with mutual exclusion in species of the Caryophyllales. Here we report about genome assemblies of Kewa caespitosa (Kewaceae), Macarthuria australis (Macarthuriaceae), and Pharnaceum exiguum (Molluginaceae) which are representing different taxonomic groups in the Caryophyllales. The availability of these assemblies enhances molecular investigation of these species e.g. with respect to certain genes of interest.
苋科是一类高度多样且分布广泛的植物,全球范围内均有分布。其中,某些物种如普通菠菜(Beta vulgaris)具有重要农作物价值,而许多其他物种能够在极端条件下生存。苋科因其复杂的色素进化而闻名,因为花青素和类胡萝卜素等色素在苋科物种中互斥存在。在本研究中,我们报道了苋科不同分类群代表性物种凯瓦草(Kewa caespitosa,属苋科),麦克阿瑟草(Macarthuria australis,属麦克阿瑟科)和狭叶草(Pharnaceum exiguum,属毛茛科)的基因组组装。这些组装的可用性提高了对这些物种的分子研究,例如针对某些感兴趣基因的研究。
