Microbial diversity investigated in Northern Beaches ICOLLs (Australia)

Characterizing the structure and function of the microbial community in four ICOLLs situated on the northern shore of Sydney metropolitan region (Australia). Microbes drive chemical cycling and productivity of these ecosystem, but their influence may change when there is an increase of anthropogenic inputs such as organic matter and nutrients. Investigating how these inputs influence microbial community is fundamentally important for our understanding of ICOLLs ecology.
