Whole transcriptome analysis of resveratrol and metformin improving high fat diet induced insulin resistance

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play key roles in various diseases; however, their functions in insulin resistance are unclear. This study aimed to determine whether resveratrol or metformin could influence the expression of lncRNA and to elucidate the underlying mechanism. We conducted a high-throughput sequencing analysis to detect lncRNA and mRNA expression signatures of mice that were fed with HFD to induce IR. Mice were assigned into 4 groups, skeletal muscle were collected, snap frozen on dry ice. Total RNA was harvested using Trizol reagent and then sequenced through Illumina NovaSeq 6000.
